Moai Statues on Easter Island NBH 009
Easter Island, situated in the south-eastern Pacific Ocean, is a Chilean island which prominently sits on the south eastern point of the Polynesian Triangle. It is home to 900 giant medieval statues, also know as Moai Statues which are craved out of volcanic rock in the form of human figures with oversized heads. Their origins are unknown and they have remained a mystery for over 200 years.
Easter Island, with its rich history and ancient monuments, have been named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
